41st Annual General Body Meeting

The 41st Annual General Body Meeting (AGBM) of the IMF was held on 26th November 2005. Members observed silence for one minute for paying homage to deceased mountaineers who had passed away in 2005 in IMF sponsored expeditions to Peaks Chomiomo (Sikkim) and Papsura (HP). President IMF had written to the DG, Punjab Police for rendering all possible help to Mrs P M Das and that an ex-gratia payment of Rs.50,000/- each was being made to the next of kins of late Ms Malabi Das and Shri Dawa Wangchuk Sherpa.
Elections
Major HPS Ahluwalia was elected unopposed as new President of the Indian Mountaineering Foundation at its 41st Annual General Body meeting held on 26th November 2005 for the period November 2005 – November 2007. The following were elected as Members of the Governing Council (2005-07):

As provided in the IMF Rules, President nominated Shri Akhil Bakshi and Professor Syed Iqbal Hasnain, as Members of the Governing Council.
Appointments
As provided in the IMF Rules, President nominated Shri H C S Rawat and Col H S Chauhan as Vice Presidents (2005-2007).
AVM (Retd) PCS Rautela, and Shri L K Malhotra have been appointed as Honorary Secretary Honorary Financial Adviser, respectively (2005-2007).
