Books & Periodicals

During the period under review, 178 new books on mountaineering and travel were added to the IMF Library which now has a stock of 2253 covers. The Library is receiving copies of journals from various organisations on exchange basis such as, The Alpine Journal, The American Alpine Journal, High Magazine, Himalayan Journal, Himavanta, Desnivel, La Montagne, Irish Mountain Log, Panalara, Japanese Journal, UIAA Bulletin and NIM Journal etc. We also get “Climbing Magazine” on subscription basis.

Library Automation

The work of Library automation with Bar Coding is in final phases. Bar Coding is an automatic identification technology. It allows real-time data to be collected accurately and rapidly and improves performance.
