Accident in Indian Himalaya

Two climbers from Mexican, Mr Andres Delgado and Mr Alfonso, who after climbing Mt. Changabang in Garhwal Himalaya on 12th October 2006, have not returned to the Base Camp till date. In consultation with the Mexican Embassy in India search and rescue helicopter sorties to locate the climbers have been launched. Indian Air Force has made several helicopter sorties on all possible circuits covering all possible routes to and from Mt Changabang to the Base Camp and Glaciers and Valleys in its proximity to search the missing Mexican climbers. Simultaneously, all possible assistance is being provided by the local Indian Army, Indo Tibetan Border Police units and the Forest Department.

Indian Mountaineering Foundation is very much concerned about the missing climbers and continuing its all efforts to search the Mexican climbers and will render all possible help required in search and rescue.
